 I did some research this morning on these buses and I have some interesting findings. I have scoured through many, many 1989 International models. Yes, the new chassis was introduced in January of February of 1989 as a 1990 model. No 1989 VIN I could find has this fascia. Contrary to what our database system currently uses. I found a VIN decoder breakdown as well and the new model does not have any indication these were 1989 models.


I know with larger commercial chassis there is a lot less information on actual model years. This happens quite often with buses.

Quote International varied its model year schedule throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. Most model years began between May and July the year before; however, 1990 and 1995 production began extra-early in January or February. The 2003 and 2004 model years also started slightly early.


There are probably a ton of these to change in the database and I am not going to request a mass change because a lot of these were defaulted as 3800 when there was a few different model designations.
