The truck on the left side of this frame is a 1939 10 ton GMCCOE low bed dray flatbed with one-to-one differential and final ratio gears in rear hubs. I has a flathead gas engine with 4 speed main trans and 3 speed aux trans. I sold this vehicle to production company 1n 1990 at Redwood City CA. It originally belonged to an Oakland CA drayage company as a heavy equipment/safe moving truck. Wood sides/ canvas 'conastoga'-style cover has been added. truck was 'rescued' from cutting torch' fate and was operable at tim e of sale. this truck also appears in two other scenes. one scene is at sunset with this truck in background in bold profile as Bugsy character is in dialog with other actor about fate of casino. |
