I do not trust that star. very short nose for a big nercedes truck of this era. strange shape. the cubic cabin seems beeing the style of a L 4500 from 1945. (too large split screen.) I think: new built in the old style. :-) der krusche |

prop made by Steve lamonby in the UK for the film..one of 3 "Mercedes" built..as to what the base vehicle was originally is open to speculation..perhaps they were aquired from the same source as the Simca trucks which were converted into Fiats...the original base truck for the Mercedes conversion could be French in origin...cant be sure tho..you would have to see them "in the metal" at a display or something..they did come back to the UK after filming. -- Last edit: 2008-01-30 14:40:43 |

I think this is meant to be an LG3000, like the Raiders/Top Secret! truck(s), but comes closer to the real thing than they did. |
