A version of the Jagdpanzer 38 (*Hetzer*)? Very short cannon ... but maybe by this point of view. :-) der krusche |

Yes, it is the Jagdpanzer 38(t) 'Hetzer' (Sd.Kfz. 138/2) built by BMM and Škoda 1944-45. It is based on the running gear of the Czechoslovakian designed 'Praga TNHP-S' tank (1938-42) which the Germans kept in production. The name '38(t)' gives the year of first introduction and the country of origin (Tschechoslowakei). After the war Škoda kept it in production and sold 158 then called 'Škoda G13' to the Swiss army where they were used until 1970. It used a muzzle break though, therefore the one in the picture seems to be a wartime version. |

nope..its actually an ex Swiss Army G13..it was found in Switzerland by UK supplier Steve Lamonby who supplied all the vehicles for filming this movie......it does however retain a WW2 German gun, as inside the vehicle, the breech still has Ww2 german markings on it, cast in...apart from the gun, none of the vehicle is a WW2 Hetzer. -- Last edit: 2008-07-09 18:45:55 |
