Tom Mullen's (Mel Gibson) car. Driven in 3 scenes. In one sequence a decoy Jaguar is used to draw away the news crews but it's exactly the same car. XJ12 boot badge is visible in 3rd thumbnail. Also seems to have a longer wheelbase than the standard X300. According to wikipedia, the LWB version of the XJ12 [X305] was only available in North America in 1996. Very nice car, but must have been a real gas-guzzler. Notice the V12 badge on the C-pillar. This car has a 6-litre V12 engine. -- Last edit: 2009-03-20 22:09:37 |

I'm sure I've seen that plate (New York, VKT670) in some other film recently. |

I like this style of the XJ (grille + headlamps + front bumper design) The grille and headlamps on the newer present model XJ are fine, but the front bumper treatment is awkward with the huge center opening with flanking air intakes. |

On Tuesday I watched Gordon Brown riding to Buckingham Palace to tender his resignation to the Queen in a 2000 W-reg Jaguar XJ8 and then our new Prime Minister David Cameron getting into an X350 Jaguar XJ (with a 10 numberplate) and it occured to me that the X300/X308 XJ is a more elegant and classy design and the unevenly-sized headlights on the newer one look slightly odd. But that new XF-style XJ is awful, it feels like the end of an era in Jaguar design. |

Isn't "vintage" a bit inappropriate for something from 1996? |
