I don't think it's a Crown but a Custom. It doesn't gets the golden 'crown' trim just above the headlights |

No such model as "Imperial Custom" in '57. Line up was "Imperial", "Imperial Crown" and "Imperial LeBaron", with the hardtop body styles referred to as "Southampton". With no crowns over the headlamps, this is simply an "Imperial". Link to specifications page of a '57 Imperial brochure: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" -- Last edit: 2010-07-14 17:46:28 |

Interesting, Vilero. Looks like your chart came from the Chrysler/Imperial site. My doc is directly from a '57 brochure. The period NADA also lists no "Custom" as a formal name. Anyone else have any info on this issue? Was there officially an "Imperial Custom"? -- Last edit: 2010-07-15 15:05:25 |

Did further checking this morning. My "Encyclopedia of American Cars", my "Standard Catalog of American Cars" and my Heasley Production figures book all state the bottom line '57 model was just "Imperial" in 1957 with no "Custom" reference whatsoever. Since all those sources along with the NADA guide and Chrysler's own 1957 brochure agree, will leave listing as is. |

Can I assume from all the discussion here, this particular car is fairly rare on this site? |

just my opinion, but on this car the dual headlamps look much better than the quads. Link to "oldcarbrochures.org" |
