red rear - it looks interesting to me. If it is a common vehicle, we should delete it. |

Don't you dare! That's a 1958 or later Studebaker Golden Hawk. -- Last edit: 2006-05-07 02:26:49 |

With that fake rear grille? That's got to be a few lears later, at least. |

yes, but 1955 seems to be the last year with this back - in 1956 the style was changed to this: http://billstudepage.homestead.com/files/bwcb56gh2.jpg and in 1958 to this: http://www.pjsautoworld.com/1950cars/1958studebakergoldenhawk.html -- Last edit: 2006-05-07 02:47:56 |

If you will look at the tail lights, the lack of fins, and the rear window you will realize that this is a '62-'64 Studebaker GT Hawk. Golden Hawks were only made from '56-'58. The caption for this picture should be changed. |

Correct, This is a 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk. The 1963s had a different "fake rear grille" (some black paint added) and the 1964s had none. |

That looks like a '60 Ford Thunderbird behind the baggage cart. |

1962 = Black squares on the decklid overlay and small S-T-U-D-E-B-A-K-E-R letters on the bright band on the trunklid bottom. 1963 = Silver squares on the overlay with a black band and large S-T-U-D-E-B-A-K-E-R letters across it. 1964 = No overlay. Smoothed off trunklid. Small Studebaker Hawk nameplate on the right side of the trunklid. -- Last edit: 2010-02-24 01:56:04 |
