this is pretty interesting and rare car I think - probably a new category (stretched wagon) should be necessary ![]() http://www.trombinoscar.com/checker/checker67.jpg |

I think one of these featured in Dog Day Afternoon. |

Quick note, Checker Aerobuses actually came out of the factory this long (rather than being sent to a coachworks company for stretching). |

Rounded sidemarkers,so 1974 or 1975(by that model-year onwards Aerobuses don't got none aestethical modification--got only new, cathalized engines by Chevrolet and later also diesel option, the same of 1978 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight--until production end--normal sized Marathons were built until 1982--when Checker claims closure of Kalamazoo,Indiana,plants--,Aerobuses seems were ceased some years before) PS But if that model was listed into Checker cars range, was built only on special customer's order -- Last edit: 2006-11-24 17:52:39 |

These Checker Aerobus or "airport limousine" models were very common at our airport, which was at that time named Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. Most were beige in color, a few were mint green. |

This scene was based on Abagnale's claims that he ran a fake stewardess school while he posed as a pilot. -- Last edit: 2021-11-15 06:38:52 |
