Looks low spec (so not for instance a VdP or a Vitesse) but seems to have a badge script which is too long for eg 2600S or 3500SE. So is it a 2400 Turbo diesel? Or 3500 VdP? -- Last edit: 2013-01-11 12:29:32 |

I cannot confirm, that the Diesel version was sold here. |

My memory is that the 2400 diesel was developed mainly to boost European exports - it used a bought-in engine (VM?) - and though small numbers were sold in UK, it was never promoted here with any emphasis. |

According to "Autokatalog 1983" the only Rovers sold in Germany were 2600 S, 3500 SE (HPD) and 3500 Vanden Plas. I don't have the "Autokatalog 1982", but I guess there was not much difference. About the Diesel version it is explicitely stated that it was not sold in Germany. |

Fortunately I own the 1982-issue (and the 1979 one) ![]() Maybe Raul1983 has more details. I know, that he owns all auto katalog-issues from the 70ies and 80ies. ![]() |

But since it already has been dated as 1982+, and the film is from 1983... |

Simpler just to call it model SD-1. It is what it was usually known as - as were the earlier P types P4, P5, P5B etc. -- Last edit: 2010-08-03 21:46:36 |
