Underneath the Hauptbahnhof Essen. The steel-construction is one of the very few parts of the old sttion, which have survived the bomb-war. Right now everything there is in renovation, all shops are out. Very neccessary, because it was known as the dirtiest nd most rotten main train station in Germany for the last years. Where the taxi stands, is (rather was) the terminal stop for that bus-line: /vehicle_31594-Bussing-BS-110-V-VOV-1971.html and 10 meters behind for the line, I had taken, when I lived in Essen in 1994. |

No, way too new. The last time, I took a subway/tram in Essen, was in the late 70ies. In the mountainous South of the town, where my grandparents lived, there was no tram. |
