There was no XLT trim for the 1987-1991 generation. XLT Lariat was the highest one. I couldn't tell you whether this is an XLT Lariat or an XL model as not enough of the truck is seen (keep in mind that at the time, XL was an intermediate trim). |

So after looking through some old photos (specifically one with a smaller version of myself standing next to the trucks name badge...convenient), I saw that my dad's truck was the lowly Custom model, although he had to have bought it with the best options available as it has a chrome grille, bumpers, side mirrors, and the respectable looking Deluxe argent styled steel wheels. So sorry, I don't have an answer about the tailgate ![]() |
