If 1983 should be named still Ebro Patrol,Nissan Patrol since 1987-1988 for Spanish-made Patrols |

Seen Brand name changed into apposite field from Ebro to Nissan, let me guess that only in Italian market early Spanish-imported Nissan Patrols were Ebro-badged(same thing happens in 1986 with Spanish-made Nissan Vanettes, rebadged as Ebro Vanette for Italy--a trick maybe thought by Ebro Italia--former Spanish-made Nissan vehicles Importer--for evite the contingented importation at which were subject into Eighties'in Italy vehicles of Japanese origins) |

But the Patrol was never sold as Ebro and the Vanette was never sold as Ebro either ![]() |

I say in Italy were Ebro-badged,not in Spain PS A curiosity about Spanish-made Patrols sold in Italy:sales starts around mid-1983,but the SWB Hardtop Wagon(unique model available at beginning here)was sold as "autocarro"=truck--Italian MoT homologation(intended usable only as a truck or van, given that ones sold here got a dividing goods'tubular grid and rear seats dropped--was a trick of Italian Importer for can pay a circulation tax's low rate for Diesel-passenger vehicles over 2-litres'capacity that were due in Italy to pay a tax of over 25%--nicknamed in Italy"IVA pesante"=heavy VAT--BTW,were sold also some Japanese-made Datsun Patrols with same body, but they were imported by Italian's private car wholesalers-distributors and they got registration as "autovettura"=car--homologation,having 5 seats aboard...What a confusion!!!........) |
