This 1930s replica streetcar was made for the movie by Dean Jeffries. It's based on GMC bus chassis and was stretched to 65 feet. It's aluminum skin on a steel framework, simulated rivets are wood dowels sanded to shape and glued on before painting. Fiberclas covers in the shape of streetcar trucks cover the bus' real wheels. It was built in one month at a cost of $200,000. (Source: Dean Jeffries by Tom Cotter, MBI Publishing, 2009. Pgs 171-173) Suggest it be renamed... Made for Movie Jeffries Streetcar replica. -- Last edit: 2010-09-05 23:35:54 |

This entry is for the black car. Without your comment revealing that it's based on a road-going vehicle, the replica streetcar would not be considered eligible for one. |

1939 Buick. I think the only 2 door sedan was a Special Model 48 |

I would just like to point out that this vehicle was made using a town bus,If you look closely you can see the tires behind the train wheels, It was pointed out in an old tour around the backlot of mgm studios |

The vehicle in question is the Buick Special in the background, not the tram. |
