C-10? |

Based on the trim style, I would say 1971/72 Chevrolet C-Series DeLuxe Fleetside with long bed. Source: Dammann's 75 years of Chevrolet. -- Last edit: 2010-09-10 03:00:25 |

It's definitely a C-10. Deluxe? As far as I know, there was never such a trim, not just with that name. I believe this is actually a Cheyenne Super. |

Note the gas cap aft of the driver's door, door handle. The fuel tank virtually sits behind the driver and passengers. |

I have a funny story about these style gas tanks. I had a friend that had a 70 something F250 which originally came with the gas tank in the cab like the one pictured above. He had removed the tank and installed a bed and dual tanks (frame-mounted) from a newer truck but didn't remove the original gas filler as he didn't want to have to weld up the hole. Can anyone guess what happened when he took the truck to a full-service gas station and told the guy to fill 'er up while he went inside to purchase a drink? |

Gas was pumped directly into the cab? |

Indeed they guy got almost 5 gallons of gas in it before anyone realized what happened -- Last edit: 2010-09-10 04:50:26 |
