The license plate looks French, and the position of the wipers also indicates a LHD version. This colour (Beige Albatros, AC 087) was available in 1972/73. |

Plates I noticed, but they can be fake: /vehicle_337901-Renault-16-1971.html |

I don't think we ever had official imports of 2CV vans (or for that matter the Acadiane) in UK. Am I wrong? |

In the 50s a total of 291 2CV Vans (9 and 12 bhp) have been built in Slough, of which 1954 were sold in the UK. Also 72 Pick-ups were made for the Royal Marine Commandos. I don't think any of the later 2CV vans not the Acadiane found its (official) way to the UK.![]() ![]() |

Nice thumbs. Had forgotten about the Slough factory and the Bijou as well. "291 2CV Vans .... of which 1954 were sold in the UK"?? Slough has only 2 other famous attributes - John Betjeman wrote a poem about dropping bombs on it, and it's where they make Mars Bars. |

And wasn't it where Ricky Gervais' 'Office' was situated? ![]() |

And someone around here is from there, where they used to crumb and deep-fry Mars Bars. ![]() |

Anyway, it seems that this scene was filmed in Israel: /vehicle_337910-Citroen-2CV-1970.html |
