And here the same question. This looks like the Lee Chapel Tornado Streamliner (Lee's Speed Shop) out of Oakland California, same design especially how the cockpit top opens flip forward in movie. Lee raced the car in "C" Streamliner class 175-180 mph with a hilborn injected 295ci Mercury and Ford engines. This car was at the first Oakland Roadster show 49-50 and written up in Hot Rod Magazine September 1953..The car was crashed at the salt flats in 1954 and body left behind but perhaps the car was used with movie magic.. -- Last edit: 2020-09-20 00:49:35 |
