1966 D-plate suggests replica. No. Marlin always seems to appear in the URL with HPI Check. Proteus and Nostalgia made C-Type replicas (amongst a few other, smaller firms) but my recollection is that both preferred to use XJ rather than a MK.II basis. That said I might be wrong and they may have started with MK.II rather than XJs as donors. Will have to do some checking. |

This is completely wrong. I just nostalgically Googled the registration because my dad owned this car from about 1979-81. It was a Mk.II, and when we had it it was what me and my mum called black, but my dad insisted was 'midnight blue.' There are probably family photos somewhere. He took me to school in it a couple of times (Manchester) and it attracted a crowd. We took it all round the Scottish Highlands on holiday too, but I think the insurance costs were just too much. |

If you have some more photos it would be nice So in the end what is it? A C-Type replica on a Mk.II basis? |

Hi, I owned and restored this car during 85 and 86 . Always wondered what happened to it. Was midnight blue. When I work out how to post a pic then I shall. Tony |

Link to "lh3.googleusercontent.com" This link may work. I took this pic around April 86 when I sold it on to a Guy up in Lancashire. -- Last edit: 2015-10-13 18:38:23 |
