At the moment exactly 25,112 Saab owners in Belgium. Maybe someone can put that in perspective with other figures? They always try to emphasize this "small community of Saab lovers" in their letters. "Dear Sir, You are unique..." like every other Saab driver. ![]() |

Nearly 27,000 SAABs were sold in the UK in 2006 so I guess we would have a much bigger figure. In recent years the sales figures will have come down a fair bit, sadly. I think the UK is the biggest market outside Sweden and the USA. -- Last edit: 2010-10-06 19:06:32 |

near my house, only a one Saab 9000 (?). Very poor. Here, until 2000/2001, Motorsab, are a official dealer for Argentina. At now, this dealer solds CHERY CARS (!!!). Epic fail for Motorsab. |

September 2010 sales totalled 1,212 compared to just 59 cars in Germany and 35 in the Netherlands. That includes a lot of dealer registered cars apparently too. My local dealer is offering a lot of discounted 60 registration (Sep +) pre-registered cars. On SAAB dealers I remember a friend of mine who was unhappy with the customer service from his Toyota dealer. When he replaced it he got a 9-3 partly because of the trouble with the Toyota dealer. He didn't realise at the time that the four nearest SAAB dealers to him were all ran by the same company as the Toyota garage! The 9-3 doesn't have the best reputation for reliability here but he still had less trouble in c150,000 miles with that than the previous Avensis. -- Last edit: 2010-10-06 19:38:03 |

1,212 in the UK with a pop. of 60 million, versus 59 in Germany with 80 million people?? Saab must be nearly dead there... The 9-3's engine should easily be able to double that amount of miles. Many have done up to 700.000Km. |

I don't know what you mean but I was simply saying that Sandie edited that in after the sales figures bit. |

Here only 3233 SAABs have been sold so far this year, about half of last years figures. Considering there were 11 million total vehicles sold this year in the US, I don't know how much longer they will survive ![]() http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3022-autosales.html -- Last edit: 2010-10-06 20:22:22 |

So the UK probably is the biggest market outside of Sweden then. In the UK they have a good reputation (SAAB drivers are seen as sensible, thinking men opposed to pushy and brash BMW and Audi drivers) and a high media profile (just look at the number of films and series from the UK that feature SAABs in roles). Even earlier this year they were suffering from an aging 9-3 and 9-5 and Britons still bought them in greater numbers than in many other states. I was reading today about the 2013 9-3 hatchback and it looks great. If they can make a Saloon or 5 door hatchback (which has not been confirmed) they should do well here. It will need to be a good well developed car though. The new 9-5 has received some poor reviews due to it being slightly underdeveloped. That actually shouldn't hold it back here IMO. -- Last edit: 2010-10-06 20:30:16 |

Yes, my father has been buying SAAB cars from 1966 until the last car, 1985. I have like those generation cars... |
