Made for GB due to right hand drive, external mirror mounted on the front fenders. Could this car come from Canada for the British market due to low tariff (or tax) law? |

This is a 1966 and not a 1967. The turn signals are in the grill on this car ,which makes it a 1966. |

Yes, I would surmise that this was built in Canada for export to another Commonwealth country the UK. I think there is a black '66 briefly shown briefly an episode of The Saint titled "Island of Chance" in the role of a police inspector's car in the Carribean, and I wonder if this is one and the same. It's original use was probably for a company or as an embassy vehicle for some country. In this episode it is a phoney USAF staff car, but the US government most likely wouldn't use a RHD vehicle and instead a LHD vehicle sourced through purchasing. The guards at the gate should have honed in on this curiousity and stopped the heist there and then! |
