Absence of vertical chrome stripes at the taillights could means either Bel Air or Biscayne. |

Agree. It was listed as Impala Four door Hardtop, but Impala would have chrome stripes on teh taillights, indeed. I cannot see whether this is a sedan or a coupé, but supposing the "four-door hardtop" is correct, it has to be a Bel Air Sport Sedan (Biscayne was not available in hardtop version). But is it really visible in this picture? |

In this accident, the driver was speeding when he lost control and flipped the vehicle onto the guard rail and rolled the vehicle along the length of the rail before coming to a rest upside down on the guard rail. Despite the damage the vehicle had sustained to a point where the recovery crew had to shovel part of the wreckage off the rail, the driver had managed to escape from the wreckage with few scratches. In his statement, the driver had stated that he was doing 40mph, but the damage to the vehicle had shown that he was travelling faster than speed that he had said. |
