I was just about to say that ![]() Remember when the car's specialty weapon on the game was a disco ball? I also remember that yellow "flat faced" school bus. |

This is a perfectly drawn 1974 Gremlin X. As the owner of a base-model '74 Gremlin who has had to endure ridicule,I am very happy to see this car in a big role of a major motion picture.Gremlin activists like myself, who usually get no respect, have reason to rejoice....even if the car is a villian, not the hero. |

According to the die-cast model I have, it's a 5-Litre v8 version : http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c259/Exiv96/1-64-cars/IMG_15000b.jpg![]() |

@51Nash- I read that they wanted 70s cars and someone just to happened to have a Pacer, so they decided to use that. Then he mentioned his friend had a Gremlin so they met up with him to look at that and they then had their foes. Now, as far as good or bad cars...Find me an American car from the 70s with a more reputuble motor than a Chrysler Slant 6 or Amc straight-6.The engines easily out-lasted the bodies. It wasnt surprising to get 150,000 miles on a Gremlin engine without an overhaul, and even in the 80s anything over 100,000 was considered to be well-beyond a cars life expectancy. Not a real solid car,but the engine made up for it. |

You're talking about Vigilante 8 2nd Offense(Vigilante 8 part 1). The game I'm talking about is Vigilante 8 which was the first game of the series that had the yellow "flat-faced" school bus driven by a character named "Molo". But yeah, both those games were good and still somewhat today. I remember on V8 part 2 that you can have the flying hover conversion for your car. Like the flying Delorean from Back To The Future Part 2 that had that ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-08-04 22:16:39 |

Yes, They didn't have the money, The Pacer was originally gonna be powered by a Wankel rotary engine that was gonna be supplied by General Motors, That was the reason for it's design, The whole car was built around the Wankel Rotary engine, But at the last moment, GM decided that they didn't want to supply Wankel engines to AMC, So AMC had to put in it's. 1950s vintage straight 6 engine in the Pacer instead, That was the primary reason for the Pacer's ridicule, While the Gremlin is just a Hornet sedan with it's trunk chopped off. |

Where exactly did you buy these models? Toys R US? Wal-Mart? Or somewhere else? Oh, They'll become collectible models all right!!! Yep!!!! I predict that in the next few years, They'll probably be as worth collecting or even more worth collecting as original 1977 Star Wars modelsc & action figures!!!! You just wait and see!!! They'll probably be worth so much mone, It'll probably blow your mind awa!!! Trust me on this!!!! |

The Chrysler Slant 6 was WAY more reliable than the AMC straight 6 I think!!! I got an American car from the '70s with a WAY more reliable engine than either the AMC Straight 6 or Chrysler Slant 6, And that would be the '76 Chevy Caprice Classic Sedan with the 454 Big Block V8!!!! Yes Sir!!!! That Big Ol' 454's one HONEY of an engine!!!! Properly tuned, She'll blow the doors of AMC Straight 6 and Chrysler Slant 6!!! And that Rochester QuadraJet carburetor those old '70s 454s had one the, IMO The BEST 4 barrel carb ever made!!! Oh Yeah!! |

My Uncle Victor was in the same Boat as you for many years, He had 2 Gremlins, A lime green '74 "X" & a 2 tone blue and black '78 "X", Both of which he bought new, The '74 "X" had the AMC Straight 6 & the '78 "X" had the 304 V8, Both were automatics, Like you, He's glad to see these cars having such a prominent role in the film. |
