 Seems so, as the backlot-scenes were obviously filmed in the USA.

 Yes, I submitted this movie, and these Simca photos. The fascinating thing about this car, is that it looks like one of the first Simca 1000's sent to the United States, and the US Specs version was not yet ready! They used cars like this one (maybe, in fact, this one!) for road tests, too. They apparently added the big, 7" sealed beam headlights and the big chrome rings, but then the European grille would not fit, so they had to take that off, and put it on again, about 3/4" below where it should be. It's hysterical, and it clearly doesn't fit, but it served the purpose. Here are a couple of photos of how that looked in the day (the red car was for a Canadian road test, and lord knows the Canadians didn't care what kinda headlights you had in the day!) http://www.flickr.com/photos/njsimca/4932672210/

Good courtesy ;) Yes, a few ones went there, though the US-NSU-freaks (two smaller clubs, their chairmen Jim Sykes and Terry Stuchlik are well known since over 20, 25 years ;) ) mostly are owning motorbikes or RO 80ies. The Canadian Club is (was? I haven't heardanything from Uli Heidtke since many years) really tiny, five or six people maximum.
