The dash styling is similar to, but different from, the Buicks of the late 1940s. Perhaps it is another GM model? Chevrolet perhaps?? |

looks like a '41-'42 Buick with a newer Buick steering wheel and gauges. |

I had expected it to be a later car and had not looked at the pics of the earlier dashes. The instruments are in the right place for it to be a '41, although the finish of the whole dash is incorrect. The 1942 models have the two side clocks a little lower down. -- Last edit: 2010-11-28 08:48:41 |

How little? To me, they seem to be located at the same place. Here's a '42: ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-11-29 07:23:51 |

I have never seen inside a '42 Buick. There is only one here in NZ that I know of. I went by the dash pic that is in the book 70 Years of Buick (1973 edition) which shows a two colour dash with the speedo in the dark coloured upper section and other clocks in the light coloured lower section. It is quite different to this pic above. |

I just searched for more information and I noticed that the Special still had this dashbopard in 1948-1949... And the steering wheel of the '48 and '49 models matches it (this steering wheel was standard equipment on the 1948 Super and Roadmaster but it was available as an option on the 1948 Special). Here's a RHD '48 ![]() and a '49 (The Special still had the prewar body that year until the early introduction of the 1950 model) ![]() So it's a 1948 or 1949 Special. -- Last edit: 2010-12-01 02:18:15 (ford_guy) |

You can't host such large images like that. When you post a picture here, upload it to a picture hosting site first. I've done that with your images. -- Last edit: 2010-12-01 02:18:34 |
