It might look similar but it's not a Daewoo Nexia/Cielo. |

This is in Chile. I don't know the name for this car. Daewoo Le Mans? http://lima.evisos.net/fotos/anuncio/daewoo-lemans-id-468960 -- Last edit: 2010-12-30 06:41:26 |

Yep, it's the facelifted LeMans built from 1993. But the thing is, it's not the Nexia/Cielo, as that's the later model which had different taillights, among many other new features. These older Korean cars seem really popular in Chile, I've seen quite a few Stellars, Royales, Ponys and Princes for sale on Chilean websites. Cf: /vehicle_342229-Daewoo-LeMans-1993.html |

Right. Here, during the 90's, were relatively popular, but not seen. Furthermore, this same car was sold for a couple of years. -- Last edit: 2010-12-30 06:41:40 |

Indeed, that must be it. I think it's called Daewoo Racer. Searching on Google Chile ( Link to "www.google.cl" ), Daewoo Racer seems to be more popular. |

Are used cars from Korea exported to Chile? It would explain why both LeMans and Racer show up. |

The second hand cars, are more common in Peru and Bolivia (i'm not sure in Chile, probably yes in the north), but for this case, its probably to sold with the two names. |

![]() @Gag: I'm not sure, but maybe there was a South American assembling of these Daewoo's. In fact Racer and LeMans are today very popular as taxi in Chile. |

Never built in the Mercosur or Chile... imported directly from Korea. |

The importing second hand cars in Chile is forbidden except for the extreme regions (northern and southern). All those old Korean cars were sold new back in the day, and they all came from South Korea. The Daewoo on the picture was never called LeMans here. Daewoo Racer is the correct name. Daewoo Pointer was used for the sale of new taxis only (not for the "civilian" models). So it's Racer or Pointer.
