A few found their way to Canada and the USA and they were LHD - Quite expensive when new - There are few Surivors that have been featured as readers cars in likes of Practical Classics. A few LHD cars found their way to France particularly Paris hence spotted in French films |

I've got nowhere obvious to put this Princess 3-Litre info, so might as well dump it here for reference in case it's ever needed. - there were 7 factory estates, all Mk2 (although first one started as a late Mk1 before being upgraded). All 1961-62 except the last one in 1963 which was built for Liz and the Royal fleet. As a useless and maybe dodgy memory from when I was young enough to run round in short trousers and enjoy sherbet dabs on the way home from baby school, I'm convinced that our local egg delivery man in south Birmingham had one - I guess he was a Warwickshire poultry farmer. I t's stuck in my mind because I knew even then it was rarer than a rare thing, and it may have been a pale monotone colour (light blue or grey); I think it might have had a split tailgate and the numberplate below the rear bumper, but beyond that nothing ..... - there was 1 very elegant 2-door saloon Mk2, built in 1962 and sadly scrapped in 1992, built for Lord Kenilworth (chairman of Armstrong Siddeley); normal wheelbase, B-pillar moved rearwards by 7 inches - 37 untrimmed Mk2 chassis (so late 61 onwards) were sent to hearse-builders; no mention for any Mk1 chassis being hearsed - all were made in UK (at both Kingsbury works and some Mk1 at Morris Cowley), except for 80 Mk1 and 192 Mk2 which went to South Africa as CKD kits; also 16 Mk1 and 24 Mk2 went to Ireland as CKDs for Dublin assembly. No figures for Mk1, but there were 467 LHD Mk2s from a total of 7901; 32 LHDs had a reduced engine of 2860 cc compared to normal 2912cc, and all went to France. |
