It is big enough to be considered as a "vehicle" I think |

Its no bigger than Toro, Snapper, Craftsman and a host of other riding lawnmowers. I guess we will soon be listing wheelbarrows. |

Do you know where else you'll find one of these? The Big Time Rush episode "Big Time Guru"(2.09): http://bigtimerush.wikia.com/wiki/File:730sada.jpg |

Does anyone know what the car in the background is? the first thing that popped into my mind was midsize 80's GM. possibly a bonneville? |

Wrenchhead, this is a LOT bigger then a Snapper. To be precise, its a 1964-65 John Deere 110 and quite the rare machine. 8hp Kohler K-181 flathead and an electric starter. Varidrive with a 4 speed. So to say, everything on this site is still "Just a d@mn car" too.. Granted there is more following for an automobile, but there's a BIG following of the 110 too. |

wrenchhead hasn't been on the site since 2008. (The old Lateef-quote again...) |

The machine used in the movie was indeed a '66, notice the bolted-on footrests. However, the machine used by the real Alvin Straight was actually a 1964 110, noted by 3-bolt rear hubs, 3-speed transaxle, and steel front axle. It was not used in the movie obviously, but from literature and pictures from outside sources I can tell you it was definitely not a '66 model like the one in the movie. |
