If you compare him with the Fiat 147, the Chevrolet Chevette and the VW Sedan, he is great

Well, probably yes, but you compare with really great cr*ps

Nice, a Corcel II! Shares something with the seventies european design of Ford, specially the Granada.

Its just a copy/past to the front of the Taunus... Granada

I'm sorry Gomsel, but I think SteveWonder is right. The Corcel's front is more like the one of a German 1978-81 Granada, definitely not the 1976-79 Taunus. Although it does also look a bit like the 1980-83 Taunus.

I mean similar to the [TC3], not for the rest of Taunus. But well, the Corcel its a deformed R-12 ;)

Not deformaed, the both generations of Corcel are good lookin' cars

Gomselmash11

2011-01-12 01:52

Totally deformed... because do you not know the REAL CAR, the R12

Crown Vic guy br BR

2011-01-13 01:14

Real car ? what do you talkin' about ? The Corcel was the best lookin' brazilian compact car from the 60's and the 70's (the 2 door coupe, not the 4 door sedan). In Brazil, ford always make great cars, except the EcoSport and the 2009 Ka. Learn more about brazilian car before saying stupid things
Compare the 2 cars
/vehicle_352869-Ford-Corcel-1974.html
/vehicle_365073-Renault-12-X17.html

And you could have more respect with the brazilian classics, because, in my opinion, the argentinian Dodge Gtx and the Renault R12 are realy strange and i don't make stupid comentaries about these cars

Please, not comment crap. This crap are a deformed R-12, and its and this horribly constructed (barely survived, i know people from Uruguay who had a thing from them, and a few years and were made junk). Humbly, you should stop disrespect, because it is boring me your comments ;)

The Ford Corcel was a car sold by Ford Motor Company in Brazil, Chile and Venezuela. The Corcel's origins lay in the Renault 12. Willys-Overland's Brazilian operation included manufacturing the Renault Dauphine and Gordini and, when it was bought by Ford do Brasil in 1967, plans were underway to replace it with the Renault 12, and Ford inherited the project. However, the styling of the Corcel was unique to Brazil before 1978. From this year, the Corcel II, as it became known, bore a strong resemblance to the Ford Escort and Ford Taunus sold in Europe and in Argentina, but its underpinnings were the same.

You understand now???

Why everytime whe appear one brazilian car in the database you start say those stupit things, why you can't be more polite ? I don't like the Audi cars, but i don't go to the A4 pages say idiot things about him.

You're wrong, I do ... but reading comments out of place, like "good", "nice ", it seems misplaced. But when he proves otherwise.
I forgot that you should say that I hate cars in brazil ... I like the Toyota Corolla, the F100 and the Honda Civic (are manufactured in your country), but this is impossible.

@Gomsel: please cool down a bit. Noone enforces you to own these cars, you hate ;) Sure, you are free to tell the owners of ugly cars "Hey, with what a fucking shitbox you're annoying my eyes?!" (I'm not inhibited about that, if such clear words are neccessary  ) - but there is no need for being upset about the shitty cars of other people.

Don't be deterred to make your own thing and became a specialist in it. For example for /vehicle_327661-Auto-Union-DKW-Fissore-1964.html ;)

Buddy, watch this video (in portuguese) about the Corcel II, he isn't a crap like you say, techinically, he was an Reanult 12 with different body and an though suspension, to the brazilian preferencies and conditions (high temperatures, the wrost asphalt in the world, bad drivers, etc) he was a very good car, every country have their automobile preferencies the germans like good cars, the japaneses prefer small car, the chineses buy anything, and actually the brazilians buy craps like the Chvrolet Agile, Fiat Uno, VW Gol, Ford EcoSport, Citröens AirCross and those things, if you compare the old brazilian cars with this 2000+ car created here, they are amazing rides

As you see many opinions. All brazilians doesn't like the cars we have to buy, but we hate most the roads and thfuel we have to use.

Brazilians cars are the result of our roads and fuel, therefore heavier, thirstyer, you cannot compare any brazilian market car with any other in European roads and European fuel. And viceversa.

Bob Dieck BR

Just to place a word on the Fissore. It was a nice car. To see. It was heavier than DKW Sedans and marketed to a people that snobbed it. Rest in market for 3 years, 64-67. valuable only today when few cars remain.

The AirCross is a crap, the brazilian Citröen ruined the C3 Picasso. Every car ceated here after 2000 is a crap, exept the Toyota Fielder and the Lobini H1, and the amazing rides was the old brazilian cars like the Ford Galaxie, Maverick, Dodge Dart, Chevrolet Opala, Alfa Romeo 2300, today only the japanese cars and the Fords are modern here the others use pre 2004 tecnology
