This car lasted for long period in Brazil, but most interesting is that Santana was assembled in China, under Volkswagen do Brasil design. The chinese asked for a roomier design but the brazilian company refused to do it, meanwhile they allowed the Chinese to provide. Therefore you find long wheelbase Santana (10 cm plus in the rear door) in china, mostly in taxi use.
Ingo ◊ 2011-01-17 22:00	In China the Passat [B5] has also a longer wheelsbase, because it's often used as a chauffeur's limousine. This Chinese Passat was available in Europe, too - slightly facelifted and named "Skoda Superb".

It´s the new VW New Midsize Sedan which costs ca. 20000 $ (in europe about 15500 €!!!!!). You can have a basic VW Polo for that money in Germany. And the NMS has got 170 HP engine and a lot of equipment.
