i can't tell for UK but by 1987 we already had the facelifted one.. ![]() according to wiki it might be plausible.. but they also say that in Canada the Stellar got replaced by the Sonata for 1992 , which really happened in 1989 so.. are they really reliable ? ![]() -- Last edit: 2024-05-16 04:04:55 |

Listings info from CAP Black Book (brief rival to Glass's in 80s-90s) - June 84 Stellar arrived here in L, SL & GSL. 4 horizontel bars in grille - Aug 84 window trim now black - Jan 85 new grille - 3 horizontal and 4 verticals; GSL got shiny stainless steel bits on bumper tops, window & side mouldings and a chrome grille. Plus a boot spoiler - April 87 black grille - Nov 91 all Stellars dropped We also got 4 special editions - Sonata (Sept 87, based on 1.6L with side stripes), Gold Medal (April 88, based on GLS, gold paint, wheels and colour-coded striping), Silver Medal (also April 88, based on LS, silver paint, wheels and colour-coded striping), Presto (July 89, based on 1.6L "no wheel trims" so presumably poverty version). Slight hint of coded striping in main as if a late registered Silver Medal?? Or just stick with GSL with chrome grille?? Stellars were slow sellers here - no-one wanted Cortina clones in late 80s - so showroom orphans probably frequent. |

It seems UK followed, @baube, the same face lift years as you mentioned above. I think the plate might be C reg vs G reg. Maybe we should wait and see if this series ever gets remasterd so we have a better shot of the plate. |

Tried several combinations with C-regs, but no matches so far ![]() |
