A better view: /vehicle_369423-Volkswagen-Typ-1.html Strange, due the upright front lamps, with the old body, I would say "only 1967 American version" - but the body is too old for a 1967-car, even for a 1964/65 one, because all windows are small. Otherwise: it's a Brazilian VW. There were many differences to the German original. Or annother possibility: unoriginal changes and restorations during the past 40 years. The movie is from 2006. |

I agree with Rjluna2, in Brazil the vertical headlights came in 1973. But the bumper is older... http://www.hammerand.de/vw/vwbrasil.html |

I thought the police car was equipped with an accessory very common before 73 which was used to place sealed-beam headlamps to old type fenders. In the other picture I got this impression very surely. Therefore the car is total original to sixties, because such accessory was sold at the time being. Brazilian VW Sedans were produced till the nineties and retained the windows as German VW pre-64 were. -- Last edit: 2011-01-25 13:11:45 |
