Vague memory of about 1970 a six-wheeled Mini conversion called the Hustler or something similar. Any connection?? |

http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/altpics/hustler/hust6.jpeg Think it was a bit later. Designed by William Towns of Aston Martin Lagonda fame. The man loved his rectangles! Used two subframes to make six wheels. Maybe a similar base was used here. |

Sandie - thanks but memory etc meant it wasn't actually the Hustler I was thinking of - your link led me to http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/altpics/ where I found the Stimson Safari 6 (also http://sites.google.com/site/stimsonminibug ) but even that was a couple of years too late. |

See also /vehicle_369710-Made-for-movie-SHADO-Jeep.html The vehicles (originally designed for Doppelgänger, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064519/) are based on Mini Moke chassis with a fiberglass body. I found here in Canary Islands one of these 6 wheels modified Mini Moke, the seller told me it was used on the mountain for recording a movie 40 years ago, but nobody there knew the title of it. It's painted in light silver and not in blue. Does anybody know if any of the modified cars were then used for some other movie here in Canary Islands? Because contacting the UFO fans everybody says that one episode was shot in Portugal instead. Thanks! |

Seems there were 2 background Jensen Interceptors in this series - one "Mist Grey" (=silver) HPP 4G and another mid-blue metallic - details unknown but owned by one of production crew. |

For what it's worth, the one you found in the Canary islands was eventually purchased by a gentleman from the UK named James Winch. He had it shipped to the UK, and has had a ground-up restoration done on it. It is painted blue like it was in UFO, unlike the other which has been painted in silver as used in Doppelganger. The third Doppelganger car (the one not used in UFO, similar to this one: /vehicle_906217-Made-for-Movie.html ) is now also in the hands of Mr. Winch, to be restored as well at some point. -- Last edit: 2016-11-08 05:17:18 |

Thanks, Jim is now my friend and we finally met six months ago for the first time. He actually purchased it from me, but it lived in my garage for 6 months in a derelict state, waiting for somebody with a trailer to bring it up to UK to him. I am happy it is now fully restored – it’s splendiferous, isn’t it? -- Last edit: 2018-01-25 00:12:09 |

Hi, in 1991 I took a video at a religious celebration in Vilaflor, Tenerife, Canary Islands. Today (by chance) I found your internet data base and recognized the car. Here I send you a screenshot of my video...Regards, Thomas![]() |

Wow Thomas, I’ve just seen the video, I am still in contact with the people of UFO and one of them sent the link to me today, so now it’s also uploaded here: https://www.facebook.com/ufotvseries/videos/1579606285420267/ Saludos desde S.Isidro! |
