Original - newer Ford GT has squarer edges. Gulf livery as 68-69 JW Wyer race team, #6 matches 1969 Le Mans winner Ford GT40, driven by Ickx and Oliver, though whether this one is the exact car or a lookalike is another question. Edit: in fact Ford GT40 chassis #1075 won both the 68 and 69 races in Wyer livery - 1968 as #9. 1969 winner at http://www.flickr.com/photos/smuckatelli/4692278262/ (showing how close the 2nd place Porsche was after 24 hours) and a recent photo at http://reviewingcentral.wordpress.com/2010/02/06/ford-gt40-race-car/ . -- Last edit: 2011-04-13 15:13:31 |

I highly doubt the original P/1075 was used as a movie car. Far too valuable to let those shlubs touch it. More likely this is a replica of P/1075 in Wyer/Gulf colours. Many companies sell convincing examples (Superformance, ERA, RCR, GTD, Roaring Forties, etc.). I agree with dsl. It's not a modern 2005-06 Ford GT Heritage Edition. |
