This car got its own episode (5.12, "The Anniversary Gift"--this is the gift). It belongs to Doris, who calls it "Clara" and describes it as 45 years old (this would be 1972-73, so according to her it should be a 1927-28 model). It also breaks down a lot.![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-02-01 02:03:30 |

Fluted radiator makes me think Buick but I'm not sure. |

I'm thinking it's a Packard. |

It is a 1927-28 Packard 526 runabout - the last of the six cylinder models and on the shorter wheelbase. This car should have drum headlights - those on the car might be from a 1929 car. Here is one - http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3332/3445541698_5565bd55bf.jpg -- Last edit: 2011-02-01 10:14:38 |

There is another one listed a little differently: /vehicle_296771-Packard-Single-Six-526-1928.html |

That´s because 526 is the chassiscode, not the commercial name. They sold as Packard Single Six, 332 would be the bodycode for the Runabout. Please don´t put internal codes in the space for modelnames. A sample from 1925: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" |

Single Six was only used for the first two series. From the Third Series they were just Six. And the eights were just Eights. -- Last edit: 2011-03-31 08:52:22 |
