It's a Rootes Hunter of some sort in basic trim. Can't see badge shape properly or plates and I think is RHD (so HK location?). Film location excludes Paykan so choice is 1967+ Sunbeam Minx or 1970+ Sunbeam Hunter d/l. I think Sunbeam Minx is safer choice (and we haven't got another definite one on the database). -- Last edit: 2011-02-01 21:30:13 |

This is in Hong Kong; could it be a Hillman? |

AFAIK all Rootes exports from late 66 were Sunbeam-badged, even RHD markets, so I assume this applies for HK as I've never come across anything to contradict this. But I don't have local knowledge. The other unknown is whether Australian-assembled Hillman Hunters were shipped to HK (and if they were what badges were used in HK). I've seen photos of Aus Hunters which look identical to UK, but have the Hillman side badge below the side trim. No such badge here, but I'm not sure if all Aus Hunters had this badge. However I'd assume this is UK car unless anyone can confirm the Aus theory as definitely happened |

As a result of this HK Minx with Hillman badge, I'm switching late 60s/early 70s HK Rootes jewels from Sunbeam to the UK branding, so Hillman here. No evidence found that HK ever received Aus built Hunters. |
