Update: Nick Mason's car with 250 GTO plates is chassis #3757LM and unofficially a 330 GTO, one of 3 built in 1963 with the 4-litre 330 engine and minor body changes such as the humped bonnet (some sources claim it is a 330 Le Mans Berlinetta but the 4 LMB cars have different non-GTO rear bodywork). In practice they are all usually regarded as one of the 39 250 GTOs. Apparently he paid £37,000 for the car in 1978. -- Last edit: 2013-02-11 04:53:31 |

A Rare Machine As Only 39 Of Them Were Ever Built. Ferrari Wanted The 250 GTO To Compete In International GT Championship. However, Due To A Recent Change In The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Rules, The Rules Stipulate That To Compete In The Championship, A Minimum Of 100 Cars Must Be Produced. However, Only 39 Were Ever Built. Ferrari Fooled FIA Officials By Skipping Numbers On Each Car |
