It most probably is a Hillman Minx Series III (1958). It could also be the Series IIIA (1959), Series IIIB (1960), or Series IIIC (1961). They look all identical from this point of view. The cars mentioned above have more curved wings. The Hillman Minx Phase 6, also known as Mk.VI, is almost identical to this one: /vehicle_11698-Hillman-Minx-Californian-MkVII-1953.html The Woseley 1500 and its siblings Riley, Austin and Morris (the latter two only being sold in Australia) look like this: http://www.philseed.com/wolseley1500.html http://www.philseed.com/rileyonefive.html http://www.britishcarlinks.com/1959%20Wolseley%201500.jpg |

The series, phases and Mk:s for these Hillmans are rather confusing. I´ve been looking into it earlier for another Minx here. But I don´t doubt that you´re right |

Yes, the Minx Phases, Marks and Series are quite confusing. Here is a good list of all the Minxes from 1932 up to 1970: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillman_Minx By the way, Minx is colloquial for 'little biest'. |

This is a Hillman Minx series 3 A, B or C.1959 to 1963.These types where the only ones with the double trims ending in a little arrow on the front en end. These where stainless steel trims. |

By the new pic one can tell that this is (at least) a 1960 Series IIIA. |

Just to confirm this is a 3b; the production still ^ shows the pressed aluminium grille instead of chromed as 3a, and 3c had simpler side trim. Slight possibility of local assembly - later Hunters were made in Trinidad from CKD, but no information about Minxes. -- Last edit: 2012-10-15 02:14:24 |
