It looks like a Baci Roadster, built by Basasie Automobile Company. But I think it's a newer model than 1984 ... |

But the movie is from 1984. |

Maybe it will help ) |

Some kind of neo-classic. Pretty sure it's not an Excalibur or a Zimmer. Clenet? |

I googled Clenet and their radiators are more vertical than this car. |

The radiator does not match with Baci - yes they are later than 1984. Google Zimmer and most of the pictures are cars with more vertical radiators like the Clenet but this one is different - http://www.topothelinemotors.com/inventorypics/87tiff.jpg - maybe there are different models. The one in the link matches with our picture - but maybe it is not a Zimmer. -- Last edit: 2011-02-16 21:52:34 |

Ah - just worked it out - not a Zimmer but a Tiffany. Haven't found anyhting much about them yet but they were around in the mid 1980s. Looks to be the first one on the site. -- Last edit: 2011-02-16 21:56:30 |

Rather not - Link to "desmoines.ebayclassifieds.com" And it's obvious convertible, not coupe |

For me - almost for sure (look at the vents on the hood in third thumbnail) - it's 1983 Bradford: http://bobsclassics.com/sold/84b.htm |

I think it's a Bradford - compare the vents on the side of the hood: http://www.bobsclassics.com/sold/84b.htm Very rare; apparently only 7 were built. P.S. Tiffanys were Mercury Cougar-based; I'm still hoping one will turn up in a movie. |

I know this is a long time from the original post but I've been searching for these cars on the 'Net. My Dad and brothers built these in Melbourne, FL for Bradford. There were also 2 "Elegante" models built. |

Bradford Motorcars Inc. of Dania Beach, Florida. Their only model was the "Limited Edition" - a self-fulfilling prophecy, so to speak... They started production around the model year 1983 and ended rather quickly. The company was dissolved in late 1985. @TimH (if you're up for a second post, that is): Do you have an idea how many of these your family built? Update: Bradford Motorcars, Inc. was the successor to Bradford Coachworks - that means, various Stretchlimousines, Cadillac and Lincoln station wagon conversions, funeral car conversions, shortened Eldorado and Seville and other creations were also made by these companies. I hadn't realized this connection before. -- Last edit: 2020-02-06 23:27:28 |
