It is a Century - because of the space between the end of the side moulding on the hood and the end of the hood itself. Evidence of the extra 4 inches of hood length. Unfortunately, from the latest trend on this site it will probably finish up being listed as a (model) Sport Phaeton which is of course incorrect. -- Last edit: 2011-03-06 20:46:12 |

nzcarnerd you are correct that the space would be larger on the Century compared to a Special. If the factory sidemount cover was in place it would make identification easier. That said in the second photos when I zoomed in on the hood side script it appear to me to have 3 raised parts meaning Roadmaster (the raised parts being the "R" "d" and "t". Also the spare tire is sitting very low in the fender. If you google other 1938 Century's look at how high the tire is relative to the hood. This is a 1938 Buick Roadmaster Convertible 80C. I'm certain. |
