I believe it is a '79 Sport Coupe, actually. |

But the parking lamp lenses are divided into 2 sections In '78 they were divided into 4. Link to '79 brochure: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" Link to '78 Lesabre: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b53/LukeCummins/78%20Buick/Buick216.jpg |

BTW, the aluminium rims are incorrect for this car, they are from a newer Electra/Estate Wagon. Also, the grille appears to be blacked out and the parking lights at the front are amber instead of clear (both of these are characteristic to the Sport Coupe) but there seems to be missing trim/emblems... On the 1977-79 Sport coupe models, the grille, rocker panel/lower door trim and window mouldings are mostly black. The rocker panels trim is also ribbed while it's flat stainless with bright finish on other models. There are "Sport Coupe" badges on the black "B" pillars. On the 1978-79 models, there are LeSabre Sport Coupe badges on the rear quarters near the taillights too (also missing on this car) and the hood ornament and portholes are different, both showing "Turbo 3.8 litre" and the hood ornament is rectangular instead of round (again, I can't see a hood ornament or portholes on this car). The grille is a 1978 grille as the 1977 grille lacks the 3 thicker horizontal bars and the 1979 grille has a thinner chrome trim at the top with "Buick" written over it. These taillights were used in 1977-78 but in 1979, lenses were changed. Maybe other or larger pics would help to identify it as a Sport Coupe or not but we can say it's a 1978 for now... |

In /vehicle_384901-Dodge-Neon-2003.html you can see that the parking lamp is divided into 4 sections. Here are the only other views available. There is a badge on the B pillar... is that a Sport Coupe badge? ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-03-21 14:37:56 |
