1985+, japanese origin (H50), but the name seems specific to the South African market |

You are correct that this is a Hi-Ace, but the "Siyaya" name (isiXhosa for "we are going") was reserved for a base-spec version adapted for and aimed at the taxi market on run-out of this model range. the one in the picutre is a high-spec model (probably a 2400 GLX), also built in ZA and aimed more to compete in the MPV market (fewer, luxury seats, bigger boot, etc. etc) with the likes of the VW Caravelle. As taxi's they are regarded as "privates" and are therefore normally more expensive. |

But it would be correct to list it as 1985 [H50] and origin Japan, right? http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Toyota_Hiace_50_Wagon_003.JPG We already have a few 1985 models listed: /vehicle_71205-Toyota-Hiace-1985.html |

It would be correct - origin would be Japan; built in ZA for ZA. |

I hope someone will finally correct this entry. |

That tiny "H" logo was introduced on this grille with the August 1985 facelift in Japan, and appeared in selected markets like South Africa. So that gives us a 1986 model year (outside Japan). |
