That must be a very rare and exclusive model. Because I never heard about a Convertible W201. |

I can't find any info about that one, except that: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/1793763-post7.html It is as strange as that W210 Convertible: /vehicle_10981-Mercedes-Benz-Convertible-W210.html |

In fact, there were a couple of German tuners (like the Scultz company in the link), which made the 190s cabriolets. Sorry, cant tell you the names from memory. |

I heard something about strange versions of 190 and other Mercedes. I read that in the late '80s the Dutch EBS produced a cabrio model of Mercedes C126, C123, C124 and other cars. |

It actually works quite well. Suprised it was never factory made. |

Handmade by a tuning-company. The reason for its rareness. As written above ![]() |

See comment here: /vehicle.php?id=241171 Here's an AKH one with the roof up to compare: Link to "www.mercedes-fans.de" It might even be the same one as the colours match (this one has a beige tonneau in spite of the black roof) and both productions have locations in Southeastern France. |

AKH Fahrzeugbau GmbH of Eutin, Germany, offered the AKH 190C from 1987 in cooperation with CARO International GmbH, Hamburg. An estimated 11 - 14 units were produced between mid-1987 and mid-1989 - each of them more expensive than a standard R107 300 SL back then. ![]() |
