Very late Ford Corsair (after Consul part of name dropped) - 1969+ from F-O-R-D front lettering. |

Very late Corsairs Were indeed "made in Dagenham" but only from 1969-70 as run-out models. Corsair is a well known Product of the Halewood plant. Not Dagenham. The 2010 film is about a genuine (female) labour dispute and its political consequences which occurred in summer 1968, starting in early June of that year. Given the film's title, and very fixed date in History, attention to detail on Ford cars is less than precise and members of this site should be able to spot many minor anachronisms. It is a very good film of its type however. |

PS: There is another Corsair of greater significance in this film. It is used as a "passion wagon" by two of the principal actors and the quality of the rear seat stitching is discussed technically. (As well as who stitched it). An important thread to the plot! The star system probably wasn't devised with this in mind. Possibly a "three" ? But at least a two! ![]() |
