Why is it a "Formal Limousine" (I've never heard of that before) and not a Fleetwood 75? |

The factory-stretched 7 and 8-seater cars formerly were called "Fleetwood 75 sedan" [no partition] and "Fleetwood 75 limousine" [with partition]. I guess the need for modernity prompted the makers to change those designations, as in the company's product brochure for 1979. Now, the "Limousine" has no sliding, glass division between the front and rear compartments; it seats 8. The "Formal Limousine" does have the partition; it seats 7 and (usually) has a vinyl roof covering called Elk Grain. The Elk Grain roof was optionl at extra cost on both versions. |
