How are you 100% sure? I can't see if there's a dual exhaust system, or if the rear name badge reads "POLICE INTERCEPTOR." |

I am sure, because I see silver lettering on the black panel, my father is a Franklin Police Officer, and he has an '04 CVPI. Plus, I think that only Police models have black panels. The Base, LX, and other models are body couloured. |

The "silver lettering" badge reads "CROWN VICTORIA." Police models have a badge (not silver) that reads "POLICE INTERCEPTOR," which is what your father's car should have. Taxi models as well as other run-of-the-mill, fleet-type vehicles also have the black panels. |

New pics shows us an authentic [P71]. Indeed a 1999 with the black molding painted over in silver. |
