I'd say Bel Airs simply were very popular with the hot rod/racing crowd back then. Cheap to come by and relatively powerful. They were darn good cars. |

In fact you cannot see if it's a Two Ten or a Bel Air. Can be one of both. So long you don't see the 1954 Bel Air decoration on the back part of the car, it could be a 210 model |

You can be sure it's a Bel-Air, because looking at the roof line, you can see it's a hardtop. And the only hardtop offered by Chevrolet in 1954 was the Bel-Air Hardtop Sport Coupe (Series 2400 C). |

Archie, you're right. I put the picture on "TV Wide-screen" and it's a hartop coupé and not a 2-door sedan. So it's a 1954 Bel Air Sports Coupe model 2454 |
