The wheels are looking too small for a Jaeep. |

It definitely is based on a local (Mahindra) Jeep, see the fenders. The wheels may be a swap from another vehicle! ![]() |

This is a Ghaduka or Peter Rehra in the local language of Punjabi. Although it borrow parts from the Willys-Mahindra Jeep, one cannot say that it is. It only borrows the steering, drive shaft, transmission, axles, and occasionally the grill. Otherwise, the chassis is a rudimentary ladder frame made from residential grade I-Beam girders, the body made like a stake truck, and many other odd pieces. The engine is from a 1950's Petter-Diesel Handstart Irrigation Engine, which is connected to the jeep transmission via two pulleys, one on the engine itself powering both a radiator pump, in modern days an alternator, and a belt that connects to a second pulley attached to the transmission. The pedals are often from old Massey Fergusons or other tractors. |
