1970+, possibly TL/1100 depending on name used in I. |

Introduced in September 1968, the TL was introduced in September 1970. I don't think it is possible to see any difference from this angle. The front would help (extra grille) or the wheels (perforated rims). Or is that left badge pointing towards TL ? |

I was thinking TL because of over-riders and the tailgate trim, but as the last time I saw a 6 was probably before most imcdb members were born, I'm not over confident. Now, where did I put my teeth .... |

I'm afraid those overriders were also on the basic 6 ![]() |

The chromed slat at the rear can be important (or in this case rather lack of chromed slat). I'm not sure what French Wikipedia exactly says about it. Maybe it was removed for 1972 m.y.? http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_6 Translation is unlcear - "1972 models: chrome strip tailgate enhanced" ?! It would means there was more of it, bigger one or something, but I doubt it. There are clearly pre-facelifted cars with and without this strip however. Edit: not bad site: http://www.r4-4l.com/articles.php?lng=fr&pg=270 So from the back, there is one difference between early R6 and R6 TL - "TL" badge on the right, but not explained was it like that for entire period - 1971-1973/74 - RNUR changed style of their badges meanwhile, so maybe in R6 too. Unfortunately they say nothing about the chromed trim of the rear. EDIT: 1972-73, there is no lower rear strip: http://renault6.forumactif.com/t36-r6-de-ses-balbutiements-a-sa-fin -- Last edit: 2019-03-21 19:01:22 |
