Early slat grille. |

Do not let the light and shadows mislead. This too is the "stamped" grille of the later MB & GPW. Look along the bottom portion and see the stamped metal. The slat grille is much more open and bare. What could be considered the front cross member of a GPW is actually the right side steering tie rod. Here is a slat grille /vehicle_720449-Willys-MB--Jeep-.html and again here /vehicle_109910-Willys-MB--Jeep--1941.html -- Last edit: 2015-04-30 16:47:33 |

Ah, puisque je te tiens… Could you please, 4x4peru, submit us (me, at least) compared examples of front cross members of a GPW and of a MB? (Next time, I'll put a question mark when thinking to have seen an 'early slat grille'.) -- Last edit: 2015-04-30 17:12:08 |

Note, 4x4peru, I'm not really convinced for this one, specially when watching the lights which are not, er, "inserted" like the ones in the new Ford grille from 1942. |
