By the overall shape it could be based on an ambulance body by Herbert Lomas Ltd, probably on a Bedford chassis. |

No rear door, therefore not an ambulance, but Bedford or perhaps Austin or Morris-Commercial is quite likely. |

'Mobile Radar Units' were operated by the RAF during and after WWII mostly using Leyland and AEC military 4x4 and 6x6 trucks larger than seen here. The signs look to be made by the TV company and type of the vehicle (probably obsolete at the time and repainted) and white trailer more like mobile X-ray units made for the National Heath Service I think. Still probably a Bedford (or possibly Morris-Commercial) ambulance based vehicle made with a side 'walk-in' entrance rather than double rear-doors. |

Not based on an ambulance as I originally thought, but a pre-WWII fire engine, a 1937 Bedford K. K type by the narrow rear track indicating single wheels at the rear. It was most probably converted from a Superline Hose Reel Tender, similar to this example... and as here /vehicle.php?id=98481 |
