@Gamer - probably not worth you spending too much effort on HK plates - they seem to have had a system where if a car is sold, it has to be re-registered and issued with a new plate for its new owner. So plate date may not reflect car date with any reliability (which is why I've given up up on them most of the time) and may often give a newer date. For what it's worth, seems very unusual for an HK car to have an older plate date than the car - if they did a cherished plate system it was rarely taken up. And I don't think they were too bothered about rigidly consistent plate fonts or spacing, so odd-looking plates like this could be fine. |

Some Hong Kong plates tended to have a cobbled up look up until the late 1980s. |
